Volume 12 of the new series Recherches Archéologiques contains a number of articles concisely summarizing the historical achievements and current research activities of individual units (departments) of the Jagiellonian University’s Institute of Archaeology. These review articles are the result of a special conference organised to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute within the Jagiellonian University in 1972. Volume 12 of the new series of Recherches Archéologiques brings a portion of very interesting studies and results of field research, mainly on Przeworsk culture sites in western Lesser Poland. There are also studies on Cyprus in Roman times and Roman numismatics.
