The life-histories of Predynastic palettes

Abstract: Many Predynastic palettes display evidence of a longevity of use prior to funerary deposition, revealing a range of behaviours towards old or damaged goods. Examining the life histories of palettes can challenge chronological and typological assumptions, including distinctions that have been made between ‘utilitarian’ and ‘non-utilitarian’ palettes.
