During excavations at site 12 in Kazimierza Wielka, 27 lithic artefacts were discovered in nine archaeological contexts dated to the Malice culture, the Funnel Beaker-Baden phase, the Mierzanowice culture, and the Trzciniec culture. The collection includes: four endscrapers, two truncated blades, retouched flakes, a “blunt drill”, a side scrapers, as well as three blades, nine flakes and two splinters, made mainly from Jurassic flint including types A and G and chocolate flint. Nine lithics are burnt.
Notably, the assemblage from the Malice culture in object 31 represents typical Neolithic “household production”, including two artefacts made of imported chocolate flint. The lithic industry of the Funnel Beaker-Baden phase is represented by a macrolithic tool interpreted as a sickle and a strike-a-light with visible use-wear traces. Artefacts from the Mierzanowice culture features consist mainly of chips and flakes from polished axes, typical for this Early Bronze Age industry. In the features of the Trzciniec culture, a burnt Neolithic blade, a massive chip, and a retouched blade with sickle gloss were found, fitting into the “late lithic technology” characteristic of this unit.
