Site V in Broniszowice, Bodzechów commune, Ostrowiec county, świętokrzyskie province was discovered during surface research in 1970. Object A was under excavation research in 1992 and 1995 (Bąbel J. 1975, 1998, 2006). Uncovered, partially damaged tomb of Funnelbeaker Culture, stone-earth construction equipped with a wooden chamber. It is rated as an object of Gaj type. The tomb is one of several ones that surround to the east, north and west (within 0,7 km to over 2 km) a large settlement of this culture in Stryczowice, dated roughly to the 4th century BCE. As a result of scientific cooperation agreement between the Historical and Archaeological Museum in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski and the Institute of Physics of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce (headed by prof. Janusz Braziewicz) the samples taken during the excavation research in V-A object in Broniszowice were sent to Physikalisches Institut der Universität Erlangen – Nürnberg in Germany, where they were submitted for radiocarbon dating. Radiocarbon dates obtained from charcoal and animal bones by Dipl. Phys. Andreas Scharf are presented by Chart 1 (Fig. 6–12). Generally speaking, the whole sepulchral object existed from 40 to 34 century BCE, i.e. within I to IIIA phase of southern-eastern group of Funnelbeaker Culture. A big range of dates suggests the tomb to have been a significant cultic object which served an important role in life of local community of Funnelbeaker Culture. For this reason it was certainly repaired (maintained). The ceramics from XI–XII century, in turn, proves management and settlement activity of that period as well as an old metrics of Broniszowice village. The tomb was damaged in its northern part by a Russian trench on 14 May 1915, during WW I times.
